3 MN Women Arrested At O'Hare With Heroin, Opium
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police arrested three Minnesota women at Chicago O'Hare International Airport Tuesday afternoon after finding nearly 70 pounds of drugs.
The women, who were all in their 50s and from St. Paul or Brooklyn Center, were traveling from Japan to Chicago.
During a screening conducted by U.S. customs agents, a number of small packets containing heroin and opium were discovered in each woman's baggage.
The bags were discovered hidden in larger bags filled with tea leaves, authorities reported.
The street value of their stash was estimated to be in excess of $3 million.
The three women were identified as True Thao, Mai Vue Vang, and Pa Yang. They were all taken into custody.
