After Squeaking By Kent State, Minnesota Hosts Ohio
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota coach Jerry Kill says he had to put on his psychologist's hat this week after his team's previous game against Kent State.
No, the Golden Gophers didn't lose the game. But an ugly 10-7 victory brought considerable criticism of the offense and quarterback Mitch Leidner.
Kill says he has tried to get the team's confidence back up heading into a home game on Saturday against Ohio, another MAC team.
The Bobcats are 3-0 this season, including a win over Marshall two weeks ago. They are expected to provide an even stiffer test for the Gophers (2-1), who have one last nonconference game before opening the Big Ten season next week at Northwestern.
