'Accomplice' Charged In South Mpls. Shooting Of Man, Baby

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A second person is charged in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man and a baby in Minneapolis earlier this month.

Rashad Austin, 25, is charged with aiding an offender, accomplice after the fact in the Oct. 9 incident where the man and infant were shot while sitting in a car near a park.

According to Minneapolis Police, Austin was in a car with Jquan McInnis -- the 17-year-old who is charged with first degree murder in the shooting -- before and after the incident. Prosecutors say Austin had McInnis's ticket for transportation out of Minneapolis after the shooting, and that he attempted to get rid of supporting documents for that ticket.

Prosecutors say Austin also told several witnesses -- at McInnis's request -- to stop cooperating with police.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office is asking for a bail of $1 million.
