8,500 Walk To End Alzheimer's In Downtown Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - More than 8,500 Twin Cities residents flocked to downtown Minneapolis to take part in a morning walk to end Alzheimer's.

More than five million Americans are living with Alzheimer's.

During the walk, participants learned about the disease, advocacy opportunities and support programs for those suffering from it.

The walk is put on by the Alzheimer's Association and hoped to raise $1 million.

They fell just short raising about $950,000, which helps fund care, support and research.
