8-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Hit By Car While Riding Bike

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An 8-year-old girl is dead after being hit by a car while riding her bicycle in southern Minnesota Saturday morning.
Sophie Stultz was riding in Albert Lea at Frank Hall Drive and East 8th Street when she was hit by a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer driven by a 70-year-old man, according to the Albert Lea Police Department.
Emergency personnel attempted lifesaving measures on scene and the girl was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Services in Albert Lea. She died later from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
The crash is still under investigation.
