7 TSA Agents At MSP Taken To HCMC Due To Odor

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Seven agents for the Transportation Security Administration were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center on Friday morning after an odor was noticed at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

The odor was investigated near Checkpoint 2 at Terminal 1 (also known as the Lindbergh Terminal) around 9:30 a.m., according to an airport spokesperson.

From 10 to 15 TSA agents said they felt ill after the odor was noticed, and seven were transported to HCMC with unreported symptoms. By 1:30 p.m., they had all been released from the hospital and were returning to the airport, according to a TSA spokesperson.

Firefighters said the odor was electrical in nature. Electricians were brought in to investigate.

The checkpoint has since reopened to the public.
