$50K Settlement Reached For Fallen Mendota Heights Cop

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by a Mendota Heights police officer, who was later killed during a traffic stop.

Officer Scott Patrick was shot and killed last year just months after he filed a lawsuit against the city.

According to Minnesota Public Radio, Patrick accused the police chief of harassment and workplace retaliation after he reported the theft of a picnic table.

The settlement means the case will not go to court and the city will pay Officer Patrick's family $50,000.
