$500 Reward Offered In Lakeville Dog Treat Case

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in Lakeville announced Tuesday that a $500 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever made "shrapnel filled meat products" and left them for dogs in the area to eat.

Police said the Lakeville Public Safety Foundation issued the reward after several dogs were injured last week by the hazardous treats. They consisted of screws, nails and other objects stuffed into a hot dogs and left in yards.

Some pets were hospitalized, with medicals bills costing several thousand dollars.
