'50 Shades Of Greyhound' A Hot Ticket This Valentine's Day
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The book was a best seller, now the movie takes center stage this weekend. Trailers for "50 Shades of Grey" on YouTube have hit 250 million views.
To be sure, the movie is quite the hot ticket this Valentine's Day weekend. Some women are making a girls' night of it, others are taking their honeys. It's also a "hot topic." While many like the idea behind the book, others don't condone it at all.
On WCCO This Morning, Ali Lucia was not talking Christian Grey, but instead about greyhounds and how you can help during the "50 Shades of Greyhound" event in the Twin Cities.
It's a social media push this Valentine's Day by a local by a Minnesota-based pet website called Sidewalk Dog. (Here are links to their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest pages.)
The three Minnesota-based dog charities who are helping show their support for this cause are the Northern Lights Greyhound Adoption, Greyhound Pets of America's Minnesota chapter, and Minnesota Greyhound Rescue. Their goal is to adopt at least nine greyhound dogs.
On Saturday, Feb. 21 you can meet and greet a greyhound that is up for adoption at Smitten Kitten. That event is from 2 to 5 p.m.
The first three people to adopt the greyhounds win two free tickets to "50 Shades of Gravy" at the Brave New Workshop. It's a comedy sketch show themed around pop culture and current events.
