4 Things To Know: Bitter Cold & The Return Of AP
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Here's a look at the four things you need to know for Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016.
Number One: The Cold
It's the coldest air we've felt around here in a couple of years.
It was 20 below in several cities around Minnesota Sunday morning, and with wind chill, it felt like 30 below.
Following the weekend snowstorm, there are now emergencies in effect in both Minneapolis and St. Paul.
You may have to move your car so it doesn't get towed.
Number Two: Vikings Vs. Colts
The Minnesota Vikings take on the Indianapolis Colts at noon at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Vikings are 7-6 this season. The Colts are 6-7.
Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson will play for the first time since he got hurt in Week Two.
The WCCO Pre-Game show with Mark Rosen and Mike Max starts at 10:30 a.m.
Number Three: Gopher Boycott
The University of Minnesota football team has called off its boycott of all activities, including the Holiday Bowl.
On Saturday morning, the players announced they will participate in the Dec. 27 bowl game in San Diego.
This comes after a dramatic week involving 10 player suspensions and a team revolt.
It all stems from a sexual assault allegation earlier this fall involving several teammates.
Number Four: Busy Mail Day
Monday is expected to be the busiest mailing day of the year for letters, cards and holiday packages.
The U.S. Postal Service anticipates about 750 million packages will be delivered during this holiday season.
That's up 12 percent from last year.
