4 People Recovering After Fridley House Fire

FRIDLEY, Minn. (WCCO) -- Four people are recovering after suffering injuries in a house fire Monday.

Firefighters arrived to the house on Clearview Street just after 7 a.m. and found it fully engulfed in flames. They encountered the home's occupants outside, three of whom were transported to Mercy Hospital Unity Campus.

One resident was treated for hand wounds after he broke through a window, and the other two were treated for smoke inhalation.

A firefighter was also treated for a minor knee injury caused by falling inside the home and was released.

Fridley Fire Chief John Berg said the fire started in the basement and extended to the upper level and attic. According to Berg, the house appears to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
