Mass Pileups Close I-35W, I-35E In North Metro
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Friday's snowstorm has led to two major mass crash events in the north metro.
Interstate 35W Northbound in Lino Lakes is open Friday evening after a multi-vehicle crash shut it down. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the crash happened along the highway near Lexington Avenue Northeast, which is in the Circle Pines area.

Some reports suggested possibly 20-plus vehicles were involved in the crash.

Wyoming police reported that a separate multi-vehicle crash occurred on I-35E involving about 35 cars just after 4 p.m. That section of the interstate is also open Friday evening.
