3 Young Minn. Golfers In Championship At Augusta Nat'l
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Camille Kuznik, Aayushi Sarkar and Connor Glynn aren't even old enough to drive yet.
But they can drive alright.
And chip. And putt.
And on Sunday, they'll compete in the national Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at the hallowed ground of Augusta National in Georgia, three of the only 80 kids nationwide -- 40 boys and 40 girls -- who get to go.
"I'm just excited to go to Augusta, because it's Augusta!" Kuznik said.
She is 11, Sarkar is 13 and Glynn is 14. They won regional tournaments to get to Augusta.
"My mom showed more emotion than I did, I think," Glynn said. "She started crying. And it was on her birthday, and she said it was one of the best birthday presents she'd ever gotten."
But that was back in September, so they've been waiting all winter for their big day.
"I watched the last year's competition on TV. And, a lot of green grass (laughs)," Glynn said.
Yes, Minnesota might still have snow, but these kids won't be deterred.
"I hope it's warm," Sarkar said.
