3 arrested after teens in Mankato overdose on pills laced with fentanyl

MANKATO, Minn. -- Law enforcement in Mankato say three teenagers overdosed on pills laced with fentanyl. Now, three adults are in jail.

The Mankato Department of Public Safety responded to three different locations on Tuesday to find the teens all exhibiting signs consistent with an opioid overdose. Authorities believe they used fake oxycodone M30 pills that contained fentanyl.

Law enforcement used Narcan, and two of the patients were hospitalized. One now remains in critical condition.

On Wednesday, the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force announced three people from the Mankato area were arrested in connection to the overdoses. Charges are pending.

The task force says a search warrant recovered 377 M30 pills, two firearms, and other drugs.
