3 adults escape house explosion in Jordan, 2 puppies unaccounted for
JORDAN, Minn. -- A house is reduced to rubble after a massive blast in Jordan. Three people were inside when it suddenly exploded.
According to Jordan police, they responded to a home on 1st Street East at 8:30 pm Thursday.
"It sounded like a really big firework," said Jason Deck. "Seeing the house split open like that's not right."
Deck was one of the first to respond.
"The window actually kind of bowed in a little bit and we could see the house kind of splitting at the seams," said Deck.
Police said three people were inside at the time of the explosion. They escaped with only scrapes and cuts.

Two dogs and six puppies were also inside, but two puppies have yet to be found.
"One of the guys that was living in the house was basically coming out from some of the rubble near where the front entrance would be," said Deck. He got up on his own and started making his way towards us and we basically said get over there is there anybody else in the house."
Despite the explosion, Deck said there was no fire. He said he witnessed the other two inside the house get out through the back.
The people who lived there told officials that someone had been in their house working in their dryer.
As for the official cause, Jordan police say it's likely due to a natural gas leak.
Police said criminal activity is not suspected.
Jordan is located about 35 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
The State Fire Marshall's Office is also investigating what happened.
Update: The two puppies were found safe on July 22, 2023.
