2 U Of St. Thomas Students Robbed Near Campus

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The University of St. Thomas released a public safety alert after two of its students were robbed Sunday morning.

According to the University's Public Safety Department, around 2:38 a.m. a male and female student were approaching the intersection of Grand Avenue and Howell Street when they were approached by two suspects.

One of the suspects knocked the man to the ground. They then took the woman's phone and fled eastbound on Grand Avenue then northbound on Fairview Avenue.

The victims reported one of the suspects had a firearm and pointed it at both students.

The St. Paul Police Department is currently investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Paul Police Department at 651-291-1111.
