2 Men Charged In Fatal Brainerd Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two men face charges after a double shooting in Brainerd early Sunday evening, which left one man dead and a woman seriously injured.
According to the Crow Wing County Attorney's Office, 23-year-old Tyler Allan Cronquist of Brainerd faces four criminal charges, including two counts of second-degree murder.
Cronquist, along with 26-year-old Nathan David Becker of Baxter, were at an apartment on the 800 block of Juniper St. with an unidentified 31-year-old woman Sunday.
An unidentified 31-year-old man arrived at the apartment, and soon after Cronquist allegedly shot him and the woman each in the head before leaving with Becker.
Both victims were taken to Essentia Health St. Joseph's Medical Center before being airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
The male victim died from his injuries at the hospital, while the woman survived surgery and is in stable condition as of Tuesday. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.
Becker, who faces four charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder, was arrested without incident at a SuperAmerica store on South 6th Street.
Cronquist later turned himself in to authorities.
It is not clear what the defendants' relationship was to the victims, or their motive.
Cronquist and Becker could each face up to 87 years in prison if convicted.
