2 Gophers Earn Stars Of The Week After Sweep Of Notre Dame

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Big Ten Conference announced Tuesday that two University of Minnesota players have been named "Stars of the Week" after the Gophers swept Notre Dame last weekend in non-conference action.

Taylor Cammarata was named the First Star of the Week after recording five points in two wins over the Irish. He had two assists in the Gophers' 5-0 win Friday night and added three more in Sunday's 4-2 victory. Cammarata recorded assists in each of the Gophers first three goals on Sunday.

It's his first career weekly award.

Goalie Adam Wilcox was named the Second Star of the Week. Wilcox had a .953 save percentage and a 1.0 goals against average in the weekend sweep of Notre Dame. He made 20 saves Friday to record his ninth career shutout and made 21 saves Sunday to record his 58th career win. It's his sixth Big Ten weekly award.

The Gophers (7-1-0) maintained the No. 1 spot in this week's national polls leading up to a home-and-home series against Minnesota-Duluth.
