2 Former Minnesota Boy Scouts Suing Over Alleged Abuse
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Two men are suing the Boys Scouts of America, claiming they were sexually abused as scouts by troop leaders in St. Paul.
The plaintiffs' attorney say the lawsuits allege the Boys Scouts organization created a public nuisance by its negligence and concealment of abuse allegations and by failing to warn parents and others about the "prevalence" of abuse.
Attorney Jeff Anderson says one of the plaintiffs was abused by a former Boy Scouts leader while a member of Troop 12 in St. Paul. He says the other was abused by a leader while a member of Troop 216, also in St. Paul.
The two men are expected to speak publicly about their allegations at a news conference Thursday afternoon.
