2 Charged In Connection With Pawn Shop Robbery, Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two St. Paul, Minn. men have been charged in connection to the armed robbery of a Roseville, Minn. pawn shop.
Derrick Lynch, 51, and Marvin Spencer, 51, were charged with armed robbery in violation of the Hobbs Act, and with using, carrying and discharging a firearm in relation to a violent crime.
According to the criminal complaint, around 5:30 p.m. on July 21 Lynch and Spencer used a semi-automatic handgun to hold up a Pawn America in Roseville.
The complaint states that Spencer entered the store, fired several shots and threatened employees with the gun.
During this, Lynch allegedly smashed a display case and took jewelry from it.
Both fled the scene with at least $200,000 in stolen jewelry.
Officials said both admitted to robbing the pawn America. Additionally, Spencer admitted to using the gun during the robbery.
Their next court appearance is expected to be September 11.
