2 Caregivers, 3 Residents Escape From Fire At Roseville Group Home
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say two caregivers and three residents at a group home in Roseville were able to get out safety Thursday morning after the building was taken over by fire.
The Roseville Fire Department was called at about 9:50 a.m. to the group home on the 2900 block of Woodbridge St. after a report of heavy smoke coming from the building. When firefighters arrived, the roof and the back deck were on fire.
There were two caregivers and three residents inside at the time of the fire. The caregivers were able to wake the residents, and they all got out safely. Firefighters also rescued a cat from the home. Fire crews said the home suffered extensive damage in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters also responded to a kitchen fire on the 1900 block of Woodbridge Court around the same time. Crews left the scene of the group home and responded to that fire, which cause light smoke damage. There were no injuries in that fire.
