2 Arrested In Connection With Hit-And-Run That Killed 10-Year-Old

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a 10-year-old girl in Aitkin County.

Steven Lee Meier, 44, and Deborah Lynn Chandler, 45, both of Hastings, were arrested Monday, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

A tip from the public aided the State Patrol's investigation and led to the arrests. Meier and Chandler are being held in the Aitkin County Jail awaiting charges.

Caylin Donovan, 10, of Lake Park, was hit and killed just before 10 p.m. on June 10. She was walking on Highway 18 near Mille Lacs Lake.
