1st Responder Pleads Guilty To Stealing Money From Crash Victim
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — An emergency responder has pleaded guilty to stealing money from the victim of a crash that killed two brothers in western Minnesota last summer.
Forty-two-year-old Tara Lindquist of Dalton admitted Monday she took money from a wallet she found lying along Interstate 94.
KFGO-AM reports Lindquist was ordered to spend 10 days in the Otter Tail County Jail with work release privileges. She'll be allowed to serve the time on weekends.
She also has to pay $86 to a passenger in the pickup who survived the crash.
According to the criminal complaint, Lindquist was among first responders at the scene of the June crash on Interstate 94 near Dalton. The crash killed 18-year-old Zach Kvalvog and his 14-year-old brother, Connor, both of Moorhead. Two other teens were hurt.
