Highway 169 Reopens After 22-Vehicle Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The southbound lanes of Highway 169 in Hopkins have reopened after a multi-vehicle crash closed the stretch to traffic earlier Friday morning.
Minnesota Department of Transportation cameras showed traffic was back to its normal pace in that area.
The crashes happened just before 6 a.m. The first crash involved a van and a sedan, leading other vehicles to change lanes and lose traction. At that point, cameras showed multiple cars pulled off to the side of the road.
Authorities said that at least 22 vehicles were involved in the crash.
As of 9 a.m., the State Patrol reported that three drivers had been injured. One of them had been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There were many other crashes reported around the Twin Cities metro after Thursday's fresh snow. Authorities advised taking extra caution and building in extra travel time.
