1 Dog Dead, 3 Cats Rescued From S. Minneapolis House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Firefighters rescued three family pets from a house fire in south Minneapolis Wednesday night.

The fire chief said they could see flames on the front porch of the home on 17th Avenue South when they arrived.

It spread to the first and second floor.

Firefighters were able to quickly bring it under control.

No one was home at the time, but firefighters rescued and resuscitated three cats that were inside.

A dog did not make it.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
