1 Dead In Wrong-Way Crash On I-694 In Ramsey Co.
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead after driving the wrong way down Interstate 694 near Vadnais Heights Thursday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, around 6:30 p.m. an SUV was driving westbound on the eastbound lanes of I-694 at Labore Road when it sideswiped a minivan, driven by 44-year-old Armie C. Victorio, of Maplewood.
The SUV then crashed into a guardrail near 35E.
The driver of the SUV died. Victorio was uninjured.
Minnesota State Patrol said they believe the driver had begun driving the wrong way near Highway 61. It is still unclear why the driver was traveling the wrong way.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
