1 Dead In Polk County, Wis. Rollover

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One woman is dead after a rollover accident in Wisconsin's Polk County Sunday morning.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, at 8:29 a.m. officers received a report of a single vehicle crash on State Highway 48, just east of McKinley Township.

The caller reported that no one was around the car, however a second caller around 8:40 a.m. said they had located a woman who they believe was thrown from the car.

Upon arrival, police found 51-year-old Donna L. Hays, of Rice Lake, Wis., near the car.

Through further investigation, police determined Hays had been driving eastbound on STH 48 when her vehicle left the south side of the road and rolled multiple times before coming to rest by a tree.

Police said Hays was ejected from the car as it rolled. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
