1 Dead, 1 Critical After Domestic Disturbance In Mankato

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is dead and a woman is critically injured after police responded to a disturbance in southern Minnesota Monday.

According to Mankato police, officers and firefighters responded to a disturbance on the 100 block of Swan Lane just after 9 a.m. They found a 46-year-old woman with head injuries.

Officers also found a man unresponsive outside. The man and woman were treated and taken to a local hospital.

Police said the woman is in critical condition and the man is dead. Their identities have not been released.

The man and woman lived in the same residence, police said, and their relationship is under investigation.

Mankato police Commander Jeremy Clifton said the man's injuries appeared to be self-inflicted.
