Zoom Experiencing Major Outages In US, Worldwide

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - As video conference calls have taken the center stage for work, education, and many other aspects of life, Zoom is experiencing major outages on Monday.

According to DownDetector, nearly 15,000 people reported outages on Zoom as of 9:56 a.m. on Monday.

"We have received reports of users being unable to visit the Zoom website (zoom.us) and unable to start and join Zoom Meetings and Webinars," the company said in a statement Monday morning. "We are currently investigating and will provide updates as we have them."

In the United States, the problem seems to be affecting those in the East Coast.

It's unclear how long the outage is expected to last.

With the Coronavirus pandemic affecting their normal routines, many schools are resuming classes this week with Zoom being utliized for remote learning.
