Zagacki: Hurricanes Have "Already Won" By Reaching College World Series

The Miami Hurricanes baseball team is getting ready to face cross-state rival Florida in an elimination game at the College World Series tonight.  The Canes are seeking to be just the fourth team in the last 35 years to win the CWS after losing their opening game.

"I just think when you get [to the College World Series], to a certain extent, you've already won," said Hurricanes broadcaster Joe Zagacki on the Big O Show. "You've achieved so much just to get here. And then once you're here, I've seen the craziest things happen. Miami has won this thing without their best teams. You just never know. You've got to get hot when you play here."

Zagacki also considers Hurricanes' coach Jim Morris as one of the best in all of college sports.

"You could put [Morris'] numbers up against anybody in the history of coaching practically in any sport. His numbers are very equivalent to that of Dean Smith. He's won two National Championships. If they fight their way out here, it will be a third.
