Wrong-Way Driver Hits Multiple Cars, Shuts Down Exit In Deerfield

DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – A wrong-way driver on I-95 crashed into several cars and as a result the Hillsboro Road exit in Deerfield Beach has been shut down.
Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was traveling north in the southbound lanes at around 8:17 p.m., hitting multiple vehicles along the way.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said in total eight vehicles were involved in the crash.
Nine people were taken to the hospital, two were trauma alerts. The other seven suffered injuries not deemed serious.
FHP expects the area to be clear by 11 p.m.
