World's Largest Hot Dog Grilled At Miami-Dade Fair
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami-Dade County Fair-goers got a taste of the world's largest hot dog on Friday.
According to our news partners The Miami Herald, the 125.5 pound hot dog was cooked for three hours on a 100-foot mobile grill that travels from fair to fair.
The naked hot dog weighed in at 51 pounds and the rest of the weight came from a huge bun and gallons of condiments which included mustard, relish, ketchup and sliced onions.
The hot dog was weighed and observed by several witnesses including a Miami Herald staffer and retired NFL and University of Florida wide receiver Ike Hilliard.
A notary public signed off on official documents which will be sent to Guinness for review, according to the paper.
The hot dog was later sliced up and sold for $1 to fair-goers. All proceeds from the sales were donated to Miami Rescue Mission.
