MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) - Breaking down into tears, Roberto Santoyo said losing his ex-wife Sivieta Diaz is more difficult than anyone can imagine.

Diaz was pulled from a burning home at 6600 block of SW 20th Street around 12:30 p.m. Friday. She died Monday.

Since Diaz passed, Santoyo has been hanging around the home in an attempt to feel closer to her.

Despite the divorce, together 31 years, Santoyo said they got along well.

Santoyo said he stayed at her home a lot, along with another man who rented a room.

Santoyo and Diaz have a daughter together and were expecting their second grandchild.

The fire, Santoyo says, started in the microwave in the kitchen.

But because of Diaz's injuries, police say her death is suspicious.

"I don't know what happened," Santoyo said. "They didn't take anything and she doesn't have any enemies."

Diaz worked at the coffee window at La Carreta in Hialeah for the past 17 years.

Jorge Gil and his wife Gladys frequent the Hialeah restaurant--they knew her well.

"She's, like, a nice person, very nice anytime," said Gladys. "She beautiful," said Jorge, "she was nice girl. My wife and I love her very much."

Diaz's mom just arrived from Cuba, heartbroken when she got the news.

Diaz's family and friends are left looking for answers, wanting to know what caused her tragic death.

Miramar Police hope to have more information Thursday after an autopsy.
