ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — A Central Florida woman who struck and killed a young teen as she sat in the middle of a road has been taken into custody.
Mackenzi Sue-Rose Miller, 21, was arrested Tuesday.
Investigators said 13-year old Trinity Bachmann was sitting on a road in Apopka after arguing with her family following a trip to the Central Florida Fair on Feb. 28. As her mother tried to get her back into the car, Miller's vehicle slammed into the teen.
Apopka police say Miller had glassy eyes and reeked of alcohol.
Miller is charged with driving under the influence manslaughter and driving under the influence while causing injury.
