FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An Oakland Park woman charged with murdering her neighbor went before a Broward County Judge Sunday to face charges.

Debra Kincy, 63, stands accused of killing her next door neighbor and friend.

Kincy did not say anything about her charges during her bond hearing but after calling 911 to report her neighbor's murder, she tearfully describe the scene reporters, saying she found her next door neighbor, Charlotte Nicholas, in a pool of blood in this Oakland Park Duplex Tuesday.

"I said, 'Charlotte' and I didn't hear nothing but I heard the TV going, so I opened.  She always left her door unlocked, so I opened her door and walked in and called her name, so I walked in the kitchen and there was her body, on the floor in a bunch of blood," said Kincy to reporters last week.

Kincy described how she called paramedics when she found her.

"But I called them as soon as I found her in the kitchen, and I couldn't get any response out of her," said Kincy.

Nicholas died shortly after fire rescue arrived.   According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, she had been stabbed more than 70 times with what investigators believe is a knife and a screwdriver.

Detectives say evidence shows Kincy had been harassing Nicholas for more than a week about jewelry she may have stolen.

BSO says on the day of the murder Kincy pawned some of the victim's jewelry, and she told a newspaper the victim was stabbed, though detectives never released that information.

Kincy is charged with murder, false ownership of information for pawned items and dealing in stolen property.
