Popular weight-loss drugs could protect kidney function

MIAMI – The active ingredients in popular weight loss drugs may protect kidney function in those taking the drug to fight obesity.

Researchers found those taking drugs like Ozempic were 20 percent less likely to have an adverse kidney event.

They warn these drugs could have negative side effects that are still unknown.
