Water Advisory In Place For Parts Of Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) --  A water advisory is in place for parts of the East Las Olas Boulevard area of Fort Lauderdale over sewage contamination.

Residents  in the designated area have been asked to avoid swimming, fishing, jet-skiing, and any water-related activities.

The water advisory applies to the people within the following boundary:between Northeast 1st Street, Northeast 18th Avenue and Southeast 17th Way, The New River and between South Victoria Park Road and Southeast 17th Avenue.

The precautionary advisory was issued after a sewer line broke. Crews were repairing the line on Thursday morning.

The advisory will be in effect until further notice.
