MIAMI - South Florida is seeing a warm and breezy start to the week with a few passing showers.

There is a high risk of rip currents along South Florida's Atlantic coast due to moderate to strong winds, according to the National Weather Service.

small craft advisory will be in effect for boaters over the Atlantic waters and the Keys from 10 p.m. Monday to 2 p.m. Tuesday. The weather service said conditions will be hazardous for small craft and advised inexperienced boaters to avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

"A sudden onset of rough seas may cause hazardous conditions, which may occur suddenly at jetties and inlets," the National Weather Service said Monday. "These conditions could catch boaters by surprise. Boaters should use caution when entering or exiting the inlets and jetty areas."

Later this week, the chance of rain is expected to rise due to moisture associated with an area of low pressure forecast to develop near the Bahamas. Scattered showers and storms are likely later in the week and into the weekend.
