UF Religion Professor Gets Probation In Video Voyeurism Case

GAINESVILLE (CBSMiami) - The former chair of the University of Florida's religion department has been sentenced to five years of probation for secretly recording a teenage girl.
Earlier this month, 64-year old Manuel Arturo Vasquez pleaded no contest to video voyeurism and possession of obscene material, according to the Gainesville Sun.
Vasquez was arrested in October 2014 after he allegedly put a recording device in a teen family member's closest.
The Alachua County Sheriff's Office said of the seven video files on the device, one showed the the girl in her underwear while another showed Vasquez putting it in the closet and positioning it.
In addition to probation, Vasquez must continue with counseling for at least 30 months and not have contact with the girl unless she consents to it and those visits must be supervised.
