HIALEAH (CBSMiami) – Two men were arrested Thursday for their alleged involvement in a crime spree.
Jose Angel Hernandez, 26, and David Lopez, also 26-years-old, were arrested early Thursday morning by Hialeah Police Task Force in Miami, according to Hialeah Police.
According to the arrest report, Hernandez, on March 17, walked into El Dollarazo and asked the cashier at the jewelry kiosk to see jewelry. Several minutes later, he demanded money from the cashier, telling her he had a gun in his waist band and pointed at it. She complied and gave him approximately $60.
The victim at El Dollarazo described Hernandez's tattoos to police—the same ones police say were captured on surveillance at a Subway hours later.
A Subway employee described the vehicle involved in the robbery which led police to Lopez the next day.
Hernandez, according to the arrest report, also robbed a GNC in Hialeah on Wednesday the 18th.
Lopez was brought in for questioning and told police that he was driving the car Hernandez was in at the time of the robberies.
Hernandez was spotted by police early morning Thursday and was taken into custody.
During questioning, according to police, Hernandez confessed to the robbery. According to police "he confessed to robbing the GNC because he needed money to buy drugs."
