MIAMI DADE - Two shootings, one fatal, were reported in opposite ends of Miami-Dade County late Thursday and early Friday.

Deadly shooting in Cutler Bay

In Cutler Bay at 12:01 a.m. Friday police responded to a shooting outside a Mobil gas station at 20201 South Dixie Highway and 22nd Street.

Two men got in a verbal dispute that escalated when one of them pulled out a gun and shots were fired, Detective Andre Martin said.

Miami resident Vincent Arthur McCrow, 56, was taken to Jackson South Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, a 35-year-old man, fled the scene and but later returned and he was taken to police headquarters to be interviewed, Martin said.

Man wounded in shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade


Shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade County

At 10:39 p.m. on Thursday in Northwest Miami-Dade, officers responded to the area of 1284 NW 72nd St. regarding a ShotSpotter alert.

A ShotSpotter alert is a notification generated by a gunshot detection system called ShotSpotter. This system uses a network of acoustic sensors strategically placed in an area to detect, locate, and analyze the sound of gunfire in real time.

A man was located suffering from at least one gunshot wound to one of his legs. He was taken to Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition.

Christmas week shootings in South Florida

The two shootings follow several others since Christmas in Miami-Dade and Broward.

Ten people were injured, including four in Homestead, three in Miramar and three in Fort Lauderdale on Christmas.

On Thursday, two teenagers were injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon in Fort Lauderdale.
