Two Elderly Victims Rescued From Apartment Fire

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue battled a fire an apartment that led to the rescue of two elderly victims trapped inside.

The fire occurred Sunday afternoon at 1115 SW 15 Terrace.

A first floor apartment caught fire, officials said.

Two elderly victims were trapped on the second floor and were rescued by firefighters.

The fire was extinguished.

A 17-year-old was treated for smoke inhalation.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said three adults and five children were displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The fire is under investigation.
