MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A small group of protestors and a handful of supporters gathered outside Trump National Doral Tuesday as the Republican Presidential nominee held a fundraiser at his resort.
"He just traffics in the politics of fear and divisiveness and we need somebody to bring us together," said protestor Bud Conlin.
Police set up barricades and closed off a portion of NW 41st Street off 87th Avenue as demonstrators began arriving.
Among those on the guest list for Trump's fundraiser -- State Representative Carlos Trujillo and former Florida International University President Mitch Maidique.
During the protest, pro-immigrant groups presented a fake invoice asking Trump to
pay for what they call "Trump's Wall of Shame" referring to the wall Trump wants built on the U-S/Mexico border.
"His rhetoric is unacceptable. It's not okay for a president running in 2016 to say such despicable things about immigrants, about women, about minorities, people of color," said Daniela Ferrera with United Against Trump.
"I hope that Donald Trump sees that we're here protesting and he is not welcomed in Miami at all," said Ruben Martinez with United Against Trump.
His supporters say they believe Trump can "Make America Great Again" as his slogan reads.
"Trump can do it. He can make that change. In spite of everything they speak about him," said Trump supporter Mercy Leonard.
Trump is scheduled to address the media Wednesday morning.
