Tropical Depression Forecast To Become Tropical Storm Overnight

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — A tropical depression forecast to become a tropical storm overnight or Saturday.
This is the second tropical cyclone of the season that has formed, according to the National Weather Service.
As of 10:40 p.m., the depression is located about 355 miles southeast of Charleston, South Carolina with sustained winds of about 35 miles per hour with higher gusts.
The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph and this general motion is expected to continue through Saturday.
A decrease in forward speed and a turn toward the northwest and then toward the north are expected on Saturday night and Sunday as the system nears the coast in the warning area.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for Savannah River to Little River Inlet South Carolina.
The depression is forecast to become a tropical storm overnight or on Saturday.
