Tropical Storm Ida Shows No Change In Strength

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Tropical Storm Ida continues moving eastward with no change in strength.
At 10:30 p.m., the center of the storm was about 1120 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands. Ida had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph with higher gusts. The storm is moving to the east at about 5 mph.
A gradual turn toward the northeast and north should occur Thursday, followed by a turn toward the northwest on Friday.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 140 miles primarily to the southeast of the center.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
