Tropical Storm Ida Forecast To Move Northward

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Tropical Storm Ida lost a little strength on Thursday morning and is expected to take a turn.
At 11 a.m., the center of the storm was about 1195 miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands. Ida had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph with higher gusts. The storm was moving to the east at about 5 mph.
A turn toward the north is expected by tonight, followed by a northwestward motion by Friday night.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
