Trayvon Martin's Parents Are Releasing A Book About Their Son

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The parents of Florida teen Trayvon Martin whose killing sparked a nationwide conversation on white violence against African-Americans will pen a book.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton will release their book 'Rest In Power: The Enduring Life Of Trayvon Martin' next year.

The book will be published by Random House's One World.

The scheduled release date is set for January 17, 2017 - ahead of what would have been their son's 22nd birthday on February 5th.

The fifth anniversary of his death will be three weeks later.

On February 26, 2012, Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman who argued he shot him in self-defense. Zimmerman was tried and acquitted of second-degree murder in the case. His acquittal sparked national protests.
