FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- An accident involving a tractor trailer carrying chemicals on I-95 caused some traffic tie ups Tuesday.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said an SUV swerved to avoid some debris on the road and collided with the tractor trailer between Sheridan and Hollywood Boulevard.
As of 4 p.m., parts of I-95 had been shut down for at least two hours, according to troopers.
Following the crash, firefighters had to use an air chisel to open the roof of the trailer to look at the cargo inside.
The truck had been transporting drums with chemicals including benzyl alcohol.
Firefighters were able to remove the drums and some powdery substance from the truck before attempting to put the trailer upright.
The driver of the tractor trailer was transported with non-life threatening injuries. No word on the condition of those inside the SUV.
