This organization accepts volunteers over the age of 12, so it is a great place for the family to volunteer this summer. For families with younger kids that want to get involved, another alternative is running a food drive at their neighborhood, church, etc. and then donating the food to Feeding South Florida. All volunteers must register first on their website, as they do not take walk-in volunteers. To register or for additional information, visit their Volunteering Webpage. While on-site volunteers for office, house maintenance, housekeeping, etc. need to be over 18, there are still plenty of ways for kids and families to volunteer here. One of the best and also a fun way to do so is by adopting a meal. The Adopt-A-Meal program is where a family can provide and make a meal for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House who do not have time, energy or funds to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal while their child is being treated. For more information on the Adopt-A-Meal program click here. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates and more ways to get involved.
