Top 5 Miami Dolphins Fantasy Football Options

Welcome to the Be The Ball blog, featuring Miami sports musings by @JoshBaumgard -- be the ball

The following rankings are based on positional value.

5. DeVante Parker

2014 Fantasy WR Rank: N/A

Early ADP: 135

Parker may not make as early of an impact as the Dolphins had hoped for as he recovers from offseason foot surgery, but that doesn't mean he can't develop into one of Ryan Tannehill's featured targets in 2015. Tannehill has never had a target with Parker's catch radius.

The former Louisville star's value swells in keeper leagues as he's expected to develop into a future star.

Recommended round: 11-13

4. Jarvis Landry

2014 Fantasy WR Rank: 49th

Early ADP: 85

Juice may be on the cusp of slot stardom but that doesn't necessarily make him a can't-miss fantasy option. The question is whether his team-leading targets (111), and thus catches (84), will take a hit this season with Miami's infusion of talented weapons like Cameron and Parker, along with Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings.

Keep an eye on the Tannehill-Landry connection in preseason. The Dolphins may be a spread-it-around squad next year, which won't bode well for any of their wideouts in fantasy. You could do worse having Landry as your No. 3 wideout.

Recommended round: 8-10

3. Jordan Cameron

2014 Fantasy TE Rank: 22nd

Early ADP: 110

Before we address Cameron's fantasy value there's a little story after the Dolphins stole this talented tight end from the Browns. Upon seeing Jordan's picture in the Miami Herald after signing, both my mother and sister felt the urge to text me about "how hot he is."

The attractiveness should carry over to the field where the hope is the 6-foot-5 seam threat reverts back to 2013 when he caught 80 balls for 917 yards and seven touchdowns. Expect him to be a terror over the middle --  as we've seen already in Training Camp -- and in the red zone.

Health is a concern with Cameron's concussion history, so add depth if he's your starter.

Recommended round: 8-10

2. Ryan Tannehill

2014 Fantasy QB Rank: 9th

Early ADP: 109

Did you realize Tannehill was a Top 10 quarterback in fantasy football last season? That was factoring in a receiving corps that generally didn't fit his strengths and a conservative passing attack.

If the training wheels come off as expected in Year 4, we could see an aerial display South Florida hasn't witnessed since the days of Dan Marino. After somehow quietly tossing 27 touchdowns last year, expect 30-plus strikes and another 4,000-yard season in 2015, making him a fine option in the middle rounds as a starter or high end backup.

The one hesitation, however, is if you're a Dolphins fan. Drafting Tannehill means you're doubling down on the teal and orange in 2015. Fantasy Football is what it is today because it allows for a release from your favorite team's struggles or misfortunes.

Recommended rounds: 7-9

1. Lamar Miller

2014 Fantasy RB Rank: 9th

Early ADP: 37

Lamar was a beast last season, averaging 5.1 yards per rush. The only issue was with his touches after failing to register more than 20 carries in any game.

Miller tacked on some muscle in the offseason, bolstering his case to shoulder a heavier load. After averaging 13.5 carries last year, expect 17-plus in 2015, making him a surefire starter and borderline No. 1 back.

Recommended Rounds: 2-3
